Ibrahim succeeded. . .I'm back online!
Down below are some snaps I took last week of a trip to the supermarket. I go every Friday to one of two Western style markets here, Hypermart or Carrefour. Last week it was Hypermart.
The big stores have milk and cheese and things you don't find at the places around the corner. They're super expensive by Indonesian standards and only wealthy Indonesians and hungry foreigners with cravings for prunes, yogurt, root beer, and butter shop there.
They have special fruits (loads of apples, oranges, lemons, and korean pears) that aren't readily available elsewhere.
For my regular everyday veggies, tofu, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, and shallots I go to the little lady around the corner.
Let's go shopping!!!!
I managed to film 4 seconds of the drive to the supermarket before the camera died. . .

I love the snaps! When I was in Indonesia I remember spending a LOT of time in the candy aisle as well as the spice aisle. I could spend hours in one of those grocery stores.
